Spring and summer are approaching. And, I know we’re all craving some sunshine and vitamin D- but be careful!

I preach, to anyone willing to listen, that you must wear sunscreen EVERYDAY. The risks of sun exposure range from stubborn dark sunspots to skin cancer. One in five Americans will develop skin cancer in their life; it is the most common cancer in the United States. And, EVERY time you get even a slight sunburn, you increase the risk of melanoma.

In my crusade, I have heard lots of excuses for not wearing sunscreen. “It makes me break out”, “I don’t want to use so many products”, “It smells weird.” Luckily, there are newer products that can offer solutions to the sunscreen-adverse. Here is a curated list of products that I have tried and love. And, check out this article for even more sun protection options (I haven't tried these).

                               1. Laura Mercier Oil-Free Tinted Moisturizer

about Me

A good tinted moisturizer with SPF is a great solution when you don’t want to wear multiple products. This product is perfect for anyone with oily skin and doesn’t have the heavy sunscreen scent. The lightweight formula adds a hint of color and controls oil breakthrough. And, the SPF 20 and antioxidant vitamin E help protect your skin from the sun and environment.

2. Shiseido Urban Environment Oil-Free UV Protector

I use this moisturizer every day in the summer because it has SPF 42. And, the formula is so light- it is almost water thin. So, be careful when you apply it because it comes out fast! And make sure you give it a good shake to get all the good ingredients onto your skin. Also, I have very sensitive skin and this NEVER broke me out.

3. Supergoop! Sun-Defying Sunscreen Oil Broad Spectrum SPF 50

I love a good facial oil- and this one is a superstar, multitasker. Although, I realize it is counter-intuitive to put oil on your face if you already have oily skin. The truth is, facial oils can actually help control access oil- you can use this oil on your face and body. It has tons of antioxidants to defend the skin against free radicals and reduce the appearance of sunspots. And, it smells fantastic!
